  1. #Realtalk -this is a long one guys, you have been warned. 😆 - - Finding balance. ✌️️ I've given up on the term "dieting". Honestly I'd rather not put a label on how I eat anymore. I've gone from high-carb, low-fat to Low-carb and Keto to intermittent fasting and carbbackloading.. But the one thing I and many of us fail to realize is the "diet" you choose has to be MAINTAINABLE long-term. Yes I love low-carb eating and it makes my stomach issues disappear but does that really mean I'm going to spend the rest of my life avoiding bread and pasta🍞🍝(things I LOVE)? Heck no. Same with intermittent fasting, I loved the feeling of getting to eat large portions later in the day but you know, some mornings I wake up and I REALLY am physically hungry. Ignoring those signals is not helping you in the long run because you are only further disconnecting yourself from your true hunger. The other thing I absolutely hate is diets that have an end date. Like "join in on the 30 day shred to lose weight fast!". OK but what happens after 30 days? Do you continue to eat according to diet rules? -potentially but likely not. You'll more likely be tempted to reward yourself since you've gone "all this time without being bad". - - Basically what I'm trying to say is diets create food restrictions and those restrictions eventually cause anxiety and obsessiveness over food. Thus, the best "diet"(I hate to even use that word 🙆) or better put "way of eating" is one that contains no restrictions. No good or bad foods. No insane meticulous calorie counting. Just making an effort to eat what you like when you are physically hungry and making healthy choices as best as you can. That is all you need. - - Want cake? 🍰Eat cake. Want a salad? 🌱Eat a salad. You might still over-eat at first or feel a lack of control but eventually it will all balance out. Stop worrying and start living. #loveyourself #strongnotskinny #bodypositive

  1. Motivation...so many people talk about it. "I'm not motivated. How do you stay motivated? It's easy for you. It's your job to be fit. Don't you get bored and tired of working out?" Just a few questions and statements that I hear people say to me or around me. My answer... This lifestyle is tough. It is not easy. You will go through pain, self doubt, highs, lows, happy days, sad days, anger and frustration. We all do. The hardest part is sticking with it for most people...but not me...not us! It is all worth it and you need to remind yourself of your why every single day. Why are you doing this? To be happy, healthy, fit, active, to grow older and still feel young, to be confident in your skin, to become faster, stronger, whatever it is... One day you will wake up at your goal and say "I did it. I made it, and this moment I am happy- it was all worth it." Keep working hard so that you can get to that day and feel that way every day afterwords. However you have to get there, but do it in a way that you are happy. You want to lift heavy and be a powerlifter one day? A bodybuilder the next? A cardio junkie the next? That's great!! Keep it interesting and keep it fun because that is what it is all about.
