This is pretty much what I'm doing right now except for instead of chilling in the gym after an awesome workout, I'm actually chilling in the Chicago airport waiting out a two hour delay for my flight to Boston 😩. And while that kinda sorta definitely sucks, it's also giving me ample opportunity to catch up with my wonderful fit fam ❀️❀️ and I'm also gonna go buy some ice cream because what else is there to do in an airport?? . I'm currently looking at a possible 4-5 days off from the gym while I'm out of town and I'm not gonna pretend that I'm not having some anxiety about that. I've felt SO strong in the gym this past week and it's easy to imagine that all my strength will disappear this past week. It's natural to fall into this negative way of thinking, but it's important to remember that it's OKAY to have some time off. If you are diligent and disciplined and get shit done 90% of the time, all of your hard earned progress isn't going to disappear in a week. . While I might not make it to the gym this weekend, I WILL get to see friends I haven't seen in years, meet people I've connected with through this community (@elatedfittie where u at), hang out with my parents, and listen to some great music. I don't know about you, but that sounds like a pretty great weekend to me and is worth more than any workout I might have done instead. . Moral of the story is don't be afraid to live a little!! Though with that being said I will most def be hitting the gym hard when I return πŸ’ͺ🏼.   1. For the first time I had a really good shoulder pump. Near the end of my workout I was looking at my shoulder and was like "who's shoulder is this?" Then I immediately went to the locker room and snapped a pic ☺️☺️

  1. Summer shred update ~ in this picture I was my "goal weight" that I set for myself when I first started going to the gym. That was the number that I told myself I would "feel best" and "look best" it's when I would "be happy" but ya know what? That entire day I felt like a fatty mc fat pants. I had gone down in sizes and had to buy clothes that fit me and I still felt fat. This picture was just last week. I'm the same weight except down 1 more pound even after a 5 day diet break. Today I feel good. Today I'm wearing a crop top. Today I'm not worried about if people see the stretch marks on my legs or the cellulite on my butt. Tomorrow I might though. And that's okay. That's recovery. That's part of learning to love yourself. My point is, THE SCALE WONT BRING YOU HAPPINESS! That number won't bring you self acceptance or self confidence. You HAVE to learn to love yourself no matter what. So challange yourself today, go stand in your mirror and say FIVE things you love about yourself. Maybe you have slipped up a few times, or you've managed to stay steady on your feet. I always remember the little things now, like the flavour of protein I buy, or what type of music I like to listen to when I workout. You see, it all adds up when you notice all these pieces of a puzzle working hand in hand together to create a picture, of your identity today πŸ” . I'm saying this because today people always dream of being like fitness models on their Instagram feed, and they say 'I want to be them' and it makes them feel so pushed back. I was forever doing this myself and I soon realised that working on who I should be, not trying to be someone else, and simply enjoying the things I love is what makes me ME πŸ‘©πŸ»βœ¨ .
