  1. In #Pakistan, the challenge of inequality is daunting. Regional disparities are stark and slow down growth and development. Multidimensional Poverty Index found that 54.6% of rural Pakistanis experienced poverty compared to 9.3% in cities. Multidimensional poverty stands at 31.5% in Punjab but rises to 73.7% in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Pakistan's richest 20 percent now consume seven times more than the poorest 20 percent. ©UNDP Pakistan/Mehr Hassan #inequality #development #sustainabledevelopment #sdgs #undp #un #globalgoals #agenda2030

  1. Pakistan's vision 2025 reaffirms the need to make #economicgrowth inclusive and #sustainable in order to eradicate poverty. It also recognises that #poverty is multi-dimensional, encompassing not only monetary depreviation but also the inaccessibility of #healthcare, #education and other amenities for all communities across the country. #pakistan #kp #punjab #sind #balochistan #photography #picoftheday #picture #sdg #undp #un ©UNDP Pakistan

  1. @UNDP's 27th Human Development Report was based on a ground breaking approach that recognizes that it is people – you and I and our families and communities – who stand at the heart of development. That while economic growth is important to bringing prosperity, wealth is only a means to an end. The true measure of a country’s success lies in the wellbeing of its people, and the opportunities and choices they have to live the lives they value.
